Sweepstakes Form Enhancements

Updated this week

Sweepstakes should feel fair, easy to run, and built on clean data. That’s why Flowcode sweepstakes forms now include Submission Limits and duplicate-entry prevention, giving you greater control over who can access your experience and how many valid entries you collect, enabling you to confidently run campaigns with clear rules and stronger data integrity.

These enhancements are designed for creators who want to:

  • Run a sweepstakes with a defined start/end window

  • Cap entries at a certain number

  • Prevent repeat submissions from the same person

  • Show a clear “closed” message or redirect users when limits are reached

What’s New

Limit submissions (Smart Rule: “Total Conversions”)

You can now restrict access to your sweepstakes experience by setting limits based on:

  • Date

  • Submission count

  • Both date + submission count

Simple setup inside the Form Editor

New controls make it easy to turn limits on and configure them directly in your form settings.

Custom “limit reached” messaging and redirects

When a sweepstakes closes or hits its cap, you can choose what happens next:

  • Show a custom message like: “This sweepstakes has officially closed.”

  • Redirect visitors to another page (like a landing page, waitlist, or alternate offer)

Duplicate submission prevention (Smart Rule: “Individual Conversions”)

You can restrict submissions to one per unique identifier, using:

  • Contact Property (Email, Phone number etc.)

  • Device

You choose which identifier Flowcode uses to enforce the rule.

Why it Matters

  • More fairness and stronger trust: Limits make your sweepstakes feel more legitimate and consistent for participants, especially when there’s a clear cutoff.

  • Cleaner data you can actually use: Duplicate submissions can create messy contact tables and unreliable results. These controls help protect the quality of the entries you collect.

  • A better participant experience when the sweepstakes ends: Instead of confusion (or endless attempts), visitors get a clear message or are guided to the next best step.

Creator Setup Flow Step-by-step

Step 1: Open your sweepstakes form in the Form Editor

Navigate to your form and open it in the Flowcode Form Editor.

Step 2: Turn on Smart Rules

Enable Smart Rules based on the number of Total Conversions or based on Individual Conversions.

Step 3: Choose what you want to limit

Configure your form limits based on your sweepstakes rules:

Option A: Limit by date

  • Set a start and/or end date for when entries are allowed

Option B: Limit by submission count

  • Set a maximum number of entries allowed (example: 1,000 submissions)

Option C: Limit by date + submission count

  • Add both controls for maximum flexibility and enforcement

Step 4: Prevent duplicate entries (optional but recommended)

Choose how Flowcode should detect repeat entries by selecting one identifier:

  • Email

  • Phone number

  • Cookie

  • IP address

This helps enforce one submission per person and protects your sweepstakes integrity.

Step 5: Customize what people see when the sweepstakes is closed

When your limit is reached (date, count, or both), Flowcode can:

  • Show a custom landing page with a message

    • Example: “This sweepstakes has officially closed.”

  • Redirect visitors

    • Example: send them to a new campaign, a promo page, or your homepage

Step 6: Publish your Sweepstakes

Once your settings are saved, publish your form. Limits will automatically apply to the live experience.

Consumer Experience Flow

When someone opens your sweepstakes form:

  1. They view the experience and submit their entry

  2. If the sweepstakes is still open, their submission is accepted

  3. If the sweepstakes is closed or capped, they’ll either:

    • See your custom “closed” message, or

    • Be redirected to the page you selected
