Unlock Custom Insights: Introducing Build Your Own Table

Updated this week

We are thrilled to launch Build Your Own Table, a new feature designed to put the power of advanced data insights directly in your hands.

Become Your Own Data Expert

Our goal is simple: to empower you to be your own data expert. You should not have to rely on a technical resource every time you need an in-depth, custom report.

The Build Your Own Table feature ensures you can quickly and independently create the exact data views you need. This means you spend less time waiting for custom exports and more time making data-driven decisions.

How ‘Build Your Own Table’ Empowers Your Analysis

While our standard analytics dashboards (at the Organization, Workspace, and Conversion Flow levels) are great for high-level summaries, we know you need the ability to answer more complex or niche questions. This new feature will empower you to get the specific and custom data insights you need without having to loop in a technical team for help.

With Build Your Own Table, you are no longer limited by pre-configured reports. You can now:

  • Customize Your View: Select the exact data and metrics that are most important to you and your brand.

  • Achieve Complex Analysis: Go beyond the averages. Easily combine complex data points to identify and optimize specific, high-value user segments and uncover niche performance trends hidden in generalized reports.

  • Achieve True Data Autonomy: Eliminate bottlenecks and reliance on technical teams. Take full control of your analytics workflow to rapidly customize, analyze, and report data on your own terms.

How It Works

You can build a custom analytics table at any level of the Flowcode platform—Org, Workspace, or Conversion Flow—wherever your data is available. Once created, your custom table is automatically visible to all users with access to that specific asset or platform level.

1. To build your custom table, first navigate to the Analytics tab within the corresponding level that you’d like to analyze (Org, Workspace or individual Conversion Flow)

2. Scroll down to the bottom and you’ll find a new section “Build your own custom table”

3. Click “Create table” and select up to three dimensions you want to measure. Once you’ve made your selection, click “Next”.

4. Next you’ll be prompted to select the metrics you want to include in your table. Select as many as necessary:

5. Once you hit “Create”, you will be brought back to your Analytics tab where your new custom table will have populated. It is easily editable, so feel free to make adjustments at any time:

Additional Details & Special Considerations

Table Creation Limits & Distribution

  • You can create up to 5 custom tables at each level.

  • Custom Tables are only included in net-new reports.

  • The generated CSV filename will match the table name you create.

Understanding Dimensions & Grouping Rules

Dimensions are the categories (columns) used to slice and organize your data. The platform enforces specific rules based on the reporting level:

Level

Specific Rule

Org

The Workspace dimension is automatically selected.

Org and Workspace

You must select the Flow dimension before selecting an Entrypoint or Module. two entrypoints can have the same name, requiring the Flow context for accurate grouping.

Flow

Data Properties are only available as a dimension at the Flow Level.

All Levels

The Folder dimension holds the full path of the folder, not the folder name, since nested folders can have the same name.

Handling Unique Metrics Totals

When using unique metrics (unique visitors, unique conversions, etc.) combined with the Date column, the sum of the rows will not equal the true unique total for the overall period.

  • Example: If the same visitor is counted as 1 unique visitor on five different days, the table will show a sum of 5. However, the true total unique visitors for the five-day period is 1.

  • Recommendation: To get the true unique total for a time range, run the report for the full date range without including the Date dimension.

Revenue and Currency

If you select to include Revenue data, you must select the Currency dimension first. Once Currency is selected, the Revenue measure will be automatically added to your table.

Date Column Frequency

The frequency of the date column (Hour, Date, or Month) is automatically set according to the time range filter you apply:

Date Column Frequency

Today, Yesterday

Last Week, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days

FAQs

1. If I include Folders and Tags in my table, do the folder and tag values displayed reflect the current status, or the status as of that specific date?

They always show the current state, not the historical state.

Example:

  • On 9/1, Code A is in Folder A.

  • On 9/24, Code A is moved to Folder B.

In the CSV, both the 9/1 row and the 9/24 row will show Code A as being in Folder B, because Folder B is the current folder.

2. What happens if a folder or tag is removed from a Conversion Flow?

Folders and tags behave the same way: They are not historically preserved. If a folder or tag is removed from a flow, it is removed universally, including historically. All rows in the CSV—past and future—will show that the flow no longer has that folder or tag.

3. When I select “Module” as a dimension, why are certain metrics showing up in my table as 0’s?

If you select a module as a dimension, only module-relevant metrics, like Module Views or Conversions, will appear. Other metrics, like Scans, Visits or Short URL Clicks, will appear as 0, as they are not applicable.
